Setting You Up

For Success

Online Learning.

It is said that all hypnosis is essentially self-hypnosis because the hypnosis client is always in control and the hypnotist or hypnotherapist is merely there to act as a facilitator, to guide the client into the hypnotic state. Once in hypnosis, it is the client's mind that does all of the work. A guided hypnosis session (aka hetero-hypnosis) has its place, particularly when facilitated by someone with a mental-health background, in cases of working through issues with an unknown cause or when dealing with more significant issues, or when a person finds they are unable to get themselves into a hypnotic state without assistance. However, self-hypnosis (aka auto-hypnosis) has its place as well. It is recommended it be used between formal hypnosis sessions to reinforce the suggestions and work done in those sessions (changes only happen through repetition), and can be used on its own as a great relaxation tool and to help with less severe issues.

If you book a hypnotherapy session with us, self-hypnosis training is always included as part of your session. However, you can also choose to learn it on its own.

The big question many people have is why pay someone to learn self-hypnosis when there is so much free information available on the internet?

There are a couple of reasons:

There is so much information out there that it can be confusing or overwhelming to beginners, not to mention how time consuming it is to gather the information you need. Your time is valuable and should be spent practicing self-hypnosis, not trying to figure out how best to do it.

Many of the "how to do self-hypnosis" websites are either filled with unnecessary information that is irrelevant to your practice, are more guided hypnosis sessions rather than teaching you how to actually do self-hypnosis, or are so basic that all they do is give you a few steps to follow without explaining the hows or whys so you can tailor your practice to yourself.

A lot of people struggle to do things without structure and support. They may start strong with good intentions, but fail to continue without adequate guidance or a proper program to follow. Self-hypnosis is not a one-and-done sort of thing. It requires commitment, consistency, and practice to learn and become good at it.
